When you love your pet, you'll do pretty weird things for it. People buy booties for their dogs' paws for the winter, and backpacks for their cats to look out at the world while they walk around.
It's a fact that humans can go a little overboard with their pets. But this is way past overboard.
According to blogger GeekDad, you can now get a customized stuffed animal replica of your dog. That's right. You can get a stuffed animal that looks just like your real animal.
Petsies is a company that offers you the option to "celebrate your current pet or remember a pet that's passed."
Here's how it works: you can buy a "huggables" or a "forevers". The "Huggables" option is the more low-key way to stalk your own pet. The "Forevers" option includes airbrushing, which is really all you need to know.
They range from $149 to $199, and yes, they are pretty damn accurate. Oh, and it doesn't have to be a dog:
According to their website, they've customized all types of animal breeds into stuffed animals, including lizards, crabs, flying squirrels, prairie dogs, rats and pigs. Because who wouldn't want a customized stuffed animal replica of their darling pet rat?
As much as we tease, this is pretty awesome. The stuffed animals can also come pretty close to the actual size of your pet, unless it's a farm animal, in which case you get the miniature pony you've always dreamed of.
But what do your pets do when they come face to face with their identical, frozen twin? GeekDad took that question and put it to the test with his dog Hamilton. The side eye says it all:
Hamilton does not look too pleased with this new intruder. But let's be real, we want to pet both of them because ohmygodtheyresocurlyandcute!
If you want to get your very own creepy yet adorable stuffed animal replica, you might have to wait a while. It takes 5-7 weeks for them to get every hair just right on your little fluffy (or scaly) loved one. Love don't cost a thing, until you want one of these.
